Vegetative NDVI

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index is the most well-known index to detect vegetation and their condition in an area by using bands of remote sensing data.

NDVI can only be created from multispectral sensors. Traditional RGB cameras are not capable of capturing the bands required to produce NDVI.

We use NDVI paired with NDRE to calculate vegetative health, and distinguish bare ground from vegetation. This enables us to generate vegetative recovery.

Vegetative NDRE

We use NDRE paired with NDVI to calculate vegetative health, and distinguish bare ground from vegetation. This enables us to generate vegetative recovery.

NDRE is an index generated from a Red edge band, which is only available in a multispectral sensor. It is sensitive to chlorophyll content in leaves (how green a leaf appears), variability in leaf area, and soil background effects. High values of NDRE represent higher levels of leaf chlorophyll content than lower values. Soil typically has the lowest values, unhealthy plants have intermediate values, and healthy plants have the highest values.

NDRE can only be created from multispectral sensors. traditional RGB cameras are not capable of capturing the bands required to produce NDRE.

Elevation & Contouring

Our high resolution sensors provide centimeter level accuracy. This enables us to make accurate elevation and contour maps at any stage of development or production.

Slope

The same sensor that provides us with the base layer for elevation and contouring also enables us to produce accurate slope maps.

Hydrology

Our high resolution digital elevation models not only provide elevation, contour, and slope derivatives but enable us to produce hydrologic maps. These maps are invaluable for projects at all stages as we can predict stormwater drainage or erosion issues.

Topsoil Analytics

Soil analytics is the heart of Soil Sage. Our team has experience mapping soils all over the world.

We provide soil analytics for:

- Pre-Construction

- Interim Reclamation

- Final Reclamation

- Topsoil salvage plans

- Topsoil mapping

- Topsoil sourcing

As part of our routine soil testing we provide the following analytics:

● pH, electrical conductivity (EC), SAR, (methods per the Table 915-1;

● organic matter (Walkely-Black method);

● nitrate, ammonium nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, iron, manganese, copper, and chloride (all using AD-DTPA extraction);

● lime and texture estimates;

● percent calcium carbonate equivalency (gravimetric);

● texture (hydrometer with textures reported as USDA); and plant available Selenium.

Volumetrics

Using our advanced remote sensing platform we have centimeter level accuracy to pinpoint volume of stockpiles of all shapes and sizes.
